Managing Oral Health and Busy Schedules

A Dental Focus on Dental Talk for Teens
In today’s world of quick-fix snacks and meals on the go, busy schedules sometimes make it easy to forget about maintaining good oral health – especially for teenagers. Many teens will grab a sandwich or french fries or a soda on the run and not think twice about the affect it will have on their teeth. When we’re not brushing after meals, the acid in soda wears down the enamel of our teeth and causes irreversible damage. The food we eat is easily trapped between teeth when we are not flossing between meals either. The best option is to make healthy choices. If you know you’ll be on the go, pack a smile-friendly snack, like nuts or vegetables or cheese. Keep a toothbrush at the office for a lunchtime brush, and have floss on hand as well. Choose water instead of soda. Ask your dentist for more information on how you can maintain your smile during a busy day.
